PINNACLE EDUCATION ACCREDITATION
Pinnacle Education was first accredited by two accreditation bodies: the North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI) in 1996 and then the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA) in 2003. Over the past 14 years Pinnacle has maintained that accreditation standard. In 2006 the NCA Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement (NCA CASI), SACS Council on Accreditation and School Improvement, and National Study of School Evaluation (NSSE) joined together to form AdvancED. Then in 2008 AdvancED acquired the Commission on International and Trans-Regional Accreditation (CITA).
After extensive review, in 2009 AdvancED’s Quality Assurance Review Team granted Pinnacle Education a 5-year term North Central Association Commission on Accreditation and School Improvement, a division of AdvancED(NCA/CASI is recognized by the US Department of Education) accreditation. Their review team commended Pinnacle for “offering courses with content that is rigorous and demonstrates best practices for on-line delivery” and for an “instructional delivery system that highly engages students in their learning.” To maintain accreditation, Pinnacle must continue to meet the quality standards and engage in an improvement process that enhances student performance. Interim reports are also required as part of a five-year accreditation cycle. We are proud to be an accredited school.
Pinnacle Education is also proud of our NCAA course approval. We are one of the few online high schools that has met the stringent NCAA course approval criteria. If you would like to verify our NCAA status, please visit the NCAA Elegibility Center - High School and search under "State: Arizona", "City: Tempe", "High School Name: Pinnacle Education". This means that the courses students take with Pinnacle, and successfully complete, may count towards NCAA eligibility.
